“flowers & elephants” (odie) i have lived in the city and i was born in a country where my mom was born when it wasn't torn apart by a war so what the hell's going on now? i thought i've wanted this here all along but when your skin is gone you bleed like anyone or some other tentative camp zama resident but it's all irrelevant to flowers & elephants now we are millions of soldiers in a city or country and geared for a fight the ilk of ink is incredible in candle light they cannot speak when it's you they're talking to they cannot see when it's you they're looking for while me and all of the hundred fifty thousand men and women with our children and our cousins we see through your president and all his sycophants but it's all irrelevant to flowers & elephants some with a feel and some with a glow some with a sumo grunt i know tsunamis predicted by plants and animals our time is quickly approaching soon high tide will gently be kissing la luna na na flowers & elephants, unborn babies flowers & elephants and pebbles that fall from the sky down to the big oak tree the one with the special branch you bow down to pay homage to no thing is nothing and nothing is everything

“identity theft” (reyes) i just can’t be shocked anymore i’m insulated down to the core all the loose wires once stripped and frayed are all soldered down now not a single stray hair left out of place they took good care to give me a new face identity theft all that they left was hardly a trace memories stored a closet of props wiped perfectly clean like sparkling counter tops just waiting for death to offer his hand a bullet of hairdoos just another sure sign we’re not meant to stay they took good aim they know what it takes identity theft all that they left is so paper thin i can see right through my own skin don’t them take you away i promised them everything if you could stay if you could stay

Released in June 2007, this was Buttercup's first self-produced record, and the first of a trilogy of EPs released in a one year period.

It was recorded in San Antonio, at Syd House Studios in the winter of 2006. Art and photos by Ramin Samandari. It is one of the more rocking Buttercup records. It is out of print.
